JOB SUMMARY AND QUALIFICATIONS

The Medical Lab Technician conducts routine and complex laboratory tests in toxicology, chemistry, hematology, immunology, and/or microbiology for use in patient diagnosis and treatment of disease. Come join our team of dedicated professionals that is committed to delivering the best patient care.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU WILL NEED:

• Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certification (ASCP or AMT) must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• Associate Degree
• At least one year hospital experience is preferred
  Medical City McKinney opened its doors more than 90 years ago. We are a 285+ bed acute care hospital. We serve the residents of McKinney and northern Collin County. Our main campus is a Level III Trauma Center. We provide emergency services at our main campus and at Medical City ER Stonebridge. We have cardiovascular and neurological services. We offer general surgery, orthopedics and women’s services. Additionally, a Level II neonatal intensive care unit and behavioral health services. Medical City McKinney is a Primary Stroke Center. We are also a stroke rehabilitation center. We are certified by The Joint Commission for total hip and total knee replacement. We are a part of the Medical City network of hospitals. • You will perform chemical, bacteriological, serological and microscopic procedures in one or more laboratory sections.
• You will produce accurate results in hematology, serology, chemistry, blood bank, coagulation, urinalysis, microbiology and other areas as designated.
• You will maintain quality results by running standards and controls, calibrating equipment utilizing approved testing procedures, verifying equipment function through routine maintenance and monitoring quality control measures and protocols.
