YOUR EXPERIENCE

  • Grade 12 graduate or equivalent
  • Current certification as a Medical Laboratory Assistant with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science, required
  • Current certification from a recognized Medical Device Reprocessing course and current MDRD experience, preferred
  • Experience with phlebotomy
  • Experience with surgical instrumentation and sterilization equipment
  • Knowledge of infection control practices
  • Experience, willingness and comfort with providing care to LGBT2SQ individuals and couples
  • BLS Certification (preferred)
Responsibilities
  • Safely collect blood samples (venipuncture) for all Twig patients
  • Prepare samples for shipment to outside laboratories
  • Assist with new patient appointments (height, weight, vitals)
  • Assist with cleaning and restocking throughout the clinic as needed
  • Reprocessing (cleaning, disinfection and sterilization) of all medical and surgical equipment
  • Perform daily cleaning of sterile core, recovery and procedure rooms
  • Managing supplies of clinical equipment and consumables
  • Be the clinic’s Health and Safety Representative
