About The Opportunity
The Department of Microbiology at Royal North Shore Hospital is seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Assistant to work in our Bacteriology Division of our department. The successful candidate will be working with a young, professional and dynamic team on a temporarily full time basis.
At the Department of Microbiology, Royal North Shore Hospital, you will be working with a large team of professional technical and scientific staff alongside with Staff Specialists. As a Medical Laboratory Scientist within the Department of Microbiology, you will be joining a vital diagnostic frontline and working closely with your team leaders who strive to deliver an exception service.
The Royal North Shore Hospital Campus is a short walk from St Leonards Station and is well connected to public transport. The hospital campus also has a car park for those who commute by car.
What You'll Be Doing
Contribute to a high-quality pathology service. Perform pathology specimen reception duties including receiving and triaging of specimens, patient registration and request entry, specimen processing and preparation for transport or delivery to laboratories for timely accurate diagnostic testing in the Department of Microbiology, Bacteriology Division. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in a 24/7 rotating roster after appropriate training.
