We’re looking for a Medical Lab Assistant to join our Central Specimen Reception team on a permanent basis.
As a Medical Lab Assistant, you’ll work as part of a close-knit team to provide timely service to all of our stakeholders.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Receive and book laboratory samples into Meditech
• Ensure correct samples are received for the tests required
• Distribute samples to sections, prioritising samples as necessary
• Package and organise delivery of samples for referral laboratories
• Assist in answering telephone enquiries
• Understand the requirements of 3rd Party Clients
• Liase with 3rd Party Clients
• Understand test requirements
• Work unsupervised within the department
• Disinfect bench area/equipment as per protocols to ensure infection
• control and the maintenance of a safe working environment.
• Deal with spills as required according to procedures.
