About the role | Mō te tūranga: Our Microbiology department is seeking a dedicated and motivated Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team in a permanent, part-time position. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a vital and fast-paced area of our laboratory services. We’re looking for someone who is eager to learn new skills, works effectively both independently and as part of a team, and takes pride in delivering high-quality, accurate results. You’ll be organised, detail-oriented, and approachable, with a strong commitment to excellence in both scientific standards and customer service. The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative, precision, and the ability to work confidently with minimal supervision. About you | He kōrero mōu To be successful in this role you need to have: The ability to work in a methodical manner adhering to strict quality procedure guidelines. A team focus with initiative, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and possess the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Excellent attention to detail, with good record-keeping skills. The ability to work independently and able to participate in out-of-hour shifts as per the roster provided. Registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practicing Certificate as a Medical Laboratory Scientist Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
