Schedule: PRN Shift: Day Location: 1035 Red Bud Road, Northeast Calhoun, GA 30701 The community you’ll be caring for: AdventHealth Gordon The role you’ll contribute: The Medical Laboratory Technician III performs various laboratory procedures in assigned areas as licensed/certified. The position requires the exercise of independent judgment under general supervision. Work customarily involves analytical testing of blood and/or human biological specimens. Analytical laboratory testing generally requires a moderate to high degree of theoretical and practical knowledge and expertise in licensed area(s). Depending on campus and department, various pre-and post-analytical work processes are included in the work duties customarily performed; on-call hours may also be required. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. The value you’ll bring to the team: May act as preceptor in new employee or student training and orientation. Answers the telephone and performs clerical and receptionist duties to support department operations. Maintains workspaces in a neat, organized, and properly supplied manner, storing and safeguarding documentation and paperwork. Other duties as assigned. Performs pre-analytical activities including equipment maintenance, function checks, inventory control, specimen collection, biological specimen processing, cleaning and disinfection, quality control, and calibration. The expertise and experience you’ll need to succeed: 5+ of experience in a clinical laboratory setting Required Associate medical laboratory technology, medical laboratory science, or clinical laboratory science Preferred National certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technician such as ASCP, AAB, or AMT Required
