Description Location: Monticello, Illinois Shift: Day shift Schedule: FT 40 hours 9am-5:30 pm with rotating weekend coverage. Job Summary: Performs patient specimen analysis for diagnostic purposes. Enters all results into the computer system. Brings panic value test results to the attention of the licensed healthcare worker responsible for the patient as required by policy. Responsible for cleaning, disinfecting and sterilizing various equipment and work areas in the laboratory. Maintains laboratory inventory. Processes specimens in hematology, chemistry and the blood bank, urinalysis, bacteriology. Associates Degree in Science. Certification/Licensure as a Medical Technician in Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology and Blood Bank. Responsibilities

The Medical Laboratory Technician performs patient specimen analysis for diagnostic purposes and enters all results into the computer system. They are also responsible for cleaning and maintaining laboratory equipment and processing various types of specimens.
