Description
What you will be doing: Receive, verify, and prepare clinical specimens (e.g., urine, stool, swabs, sputum, blood cultures). Conduct culture inoculation, sub-culturing, and incubation following established protocols. Perform Gram stains, microscopy, and preliminary organism evaluation. Identify microorganisms using biochemical tests, automated analyzers, and manual methods. Carry out antimicrobial susceptibility testing. Enter test results accurately into the Laboratory Information System (LIS). Ensure timely communication of critical or abnormal results to clinicians. Maintain detailed records as required Use appropriate PPE and handle infectious samples safely. Ensure proper disposal of biohazard, chemical waste, and sharps. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the microbiology workstation What are we looking for? A bachelor’s degree in biomedical, biology, Chemistry, biotechnology, life sciences or any related field Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a similar field. Good knowledge of laboratory practices (testing, analysis, safety, efficient reporting, compliance, troubleshooting) Working knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and database systems Ability to work autonomously and under pressure Good planning and organization skills Good writing and oral communication skills Good Analytical skills
Responsibilities
