The successful candidate will be required to provide scientific input to the department encompassing bacteriology and molecular biology sections and provide shift cover as part of a team based on a seven day roster.

The position is located at the Nepean Hospital Microbiology Laboratory, NSW Health Pathology - West. Nepean Hospital is home to our purpose-built Pathology Laboratory. Our laboratory provides a comprehensive on-site Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases service for the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District and is a referral laboratory for the molecular detection of pathogens associated with atypical pneumonia.

What you'll be doing
n Perform a range of laboratory investigations and tests (manual and automated) and technical tasks by applying established methods and procedures, as directed. Undertake other laboratory duties including preparation of materials and the maintenance of equipment in line with established laboratory processes, procedures and protocols.
