Description Overview Tanaq Management Services (TMS) delivers professional, scientific, and technical services and information technology (IT) solutions to federal agencies in health, agriculture, technology, and other government services. About the Role We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform routine laboratory testing and technical procedures under the supervision of a Medical Technologist or Laboratory Supervisor. The technician is responsible for producing accurate and reliable test results to support the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This is a fully onsite position at a medical facility in Sisseton, South Dakota. Work schedule may include evening, weekends, holidays, or shift rotations. This position is contingent on contract award. Responsibilities Perform routine and standardized tests in clinical laboratory areas (hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, microbiology, etc.). Prepare specimens, reagents, and solutions according to standard operating procedures. Record and report test results accurately and promptly. Maintain laboratory equipment and perform daily quality control checks. Participate in quality assurance and proficiency testing activities. Comply with safety and infection control procedures at all times. Assist in the preparation and maintenance of documentation and records required for regulatory compliance. Maintain confidentiality of patient and laboratory data. Support higher-level technologists and laboratory management in assigned tasks. Perform other related duties as required. Requirements Required Skills and Experience Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory. Understanding of routine clinical laboratory procedures and safety practices. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately. Proficiency in basic laboratory instrumentation and data entry systems. Ability to comply with CLIA, CAP, OSHA, and facility-specific laboratory standards. Ability to maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient information. Ability to complete mandatory training, safety drills, and annual competency assessments. Maintain familiarity and comply with Federal, State, Indian Health Service, accreditation standards, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Service (CMS) regulations, Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) and departmental regulation and requirements. Strong organizational and communication skills. Must meet all credentialing and background investigation requirements, including Tier 2 with Subject Interview (T2S) and state and local criminal history checks, and drug testing. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future. Education and Training Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field from an accredited institution required. MLT (ASCP), AMT, or equivalent certification highly desired based on facility and state regulations. Must have a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Physical and Working Conditions Must provide proof of current immunizations (Hep B, MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Flu) status and a current PPD within the past year. Exposure to potentially infectious materials and hazardous chemicals. Requires use of PPE including gloves, masks, and lab coats. Standing for long periods and handling delicate instruments. May be required to work evenings, weekends, or holidays depending on department needs. Must be able to work fully onsite at a medical facility in Sisseton, SD. Walking, reaching, bending, and stooping. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. May need to lift 25 pounds regularly.
