REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Current registration with the CMLTO
· Graduate of an approved course for Medical Laboratory Technology

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Membership in the Canadian Society of Laboratory Technologist

ABILITIES/SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:

· Knowledge of, and willingness to support SJGHEL’s Mission, Vision & Values of Compassion, Humility & Harmony, Respect, Integrity, Social Responsibility and The Sacredness of Life
· Perform a variety of laboratory tests in accordance with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO) and Quality Management Program Laboratory Services (QMP-LS) standards.
· Process and analyze laboratory specimens accurately and efficiently across multiple disciplines, including Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Bacteriology, Serology, Urinalysis, and Phlebotomy.
· Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure accurate testing and timely reporting of results.
· Record and communicate test results effectively to physicians and nursing staff, ensuring high-quality patient care.
· Maintain detailed and accurate records, including statistical data, test results, and laboratory documentation.
· Stay current with advancements in laboratory medicine and contribute to departmental improvements through training and procedure development
