To be eligible for registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists (CMLTO) of Ontario, the candidate must possess the following skills: proficiency in Hematology, Transfusion Medicine, Chemistry, Microbiology, and Immunology. While it is considered an asset to have at least one year of experience as a general duty technologist, and general hospital experience, it is not a mandatory requirement.
The job duties will include performing general laboratory duties in Hematology, Transfusion Medicine, Microbiology, Chemistry, and Immunology departments. The candidate will also be responsible for specimen procurement and handling, working flexible shifts, and demonstrating dependability, competence, and professional responsibility.
As part of the job, the candidate must adhere to organizational policies and procedures, including cleaning, hand hygiene, and the use of Personal Protective Equipment to support Infection Control measures, and attend training when necessary. The position is a full-time, fixed-term contract. Additionally, the candidate must be physically capable of performing the duties of the position.
