Medical Office Administrator/ (Physician Assistant Runner)
We are seeking a candidate to fill the admin assistant/runner position. The ideal applicant will be enthusiastic, well-organized, and have exceptional time management abilities. We seek someone who takes pride in their work, can perform well under pressure, and has a keen eye for precision and detail.
Tasks include but are not limited to;

Physician Assistant/Runner Tasks

  • Patient workflow traffic management, ensuring patients are in the exam rooms and prepped for the physicians keeping the physicians on time.
  • MUST have experience in taking and recording the vitals of each patient, assisting with Well Baby checks as required.
  • Printing and labelling all biopsy/lab samples accurately.
  • Preparation & sterilization of exam rooms after each patient.
  • Assisting physicians and nurses as necessary & required.

Administrative Tasks

  • Reception coverage
  • Triaging patient phone calls and responding to patient messages promptly.
  • A high volume of administration work including processing e-faxes/scans
  • Mail retrieval and distribution
  • Medical supplies inventory, ordering & re-stocking.
  • Compliance with HIPPA, PHIPA and PIPEDA at all times.
  • Adhering to all Covid-19 safety protocols and regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

  • Medical Office Administrator Diploma or 2 years of working experience in a health care setting, preferably family health practice in a similar role.
  • Working EMR experience a must, Telus Practice Solution an asset
  • Proven organizational skills, critical thinking capabilities, a proactive approach to work and solid work references are required.
  • Courteous, polite and helpful to the public, patients and staff.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to change
  • Must have excellent communication skills both verbal & written.
  • This role requires prolonged hours of standing and walking.
  • This role requires the ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
    Pay: $19.00-$25.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

Education:

  • AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

Experience:
