Medical Office Assistant
Duties:
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information
- Schedule appointments and manage the office calendar
- Answer phone calls, take messages, and respond to inquiries
- Maintain patient records, including filing, organizing, and updating medical charts
- Assist with insurance verification and billing processes
- Prepare examination rooms for patient visits, ensuring cleanliness and availability of necessary supplies
- Perform basic administrative tasks such as data entry, scanning documents, and managing office correspondence
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure smooth workflow and efficient patient care
Qualifications:
- certification in medical office administration
- Previous experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred
- Proficient in using electronic health record (EMR) OSCARsystems and other office software applications
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is an asset
