Experience, education, and qualifications

  • Three or more years of experience in a medical or healthcare office is preferred.
  • A diploma or certificate in Medical Office Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with patient intake, scheduling, multi-line phone systems, correspondence, medical records, referrals, and billing.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records and office software. Experience with Accuro EMR is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and medical office procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and a professional approach to patient service.
  • Ability to prioritize urgent work, manage a high volume of tasks, and work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Basic clinical knowledge, such as familiarity with taking vital signs or preparing examination rooms, is an asset.
