The preferred candidate will:

  • have two to three years of prior MOA experience, preferably working with ENT’s
  • Graduated from an accredited MOA program in Alberta
  • Must drive - our location is not easy to get to via public transportation
  • have experience with an electronic medical record EMR system, Med Access preferred
  • Be proficient using Google Drive (Docs, Sheets, etc), Microsoft Office and Adobe.
  • have strong multitasking and troubleshooting skills, be willing to take initiative, and work well with others.
  • maintain a caring and professional demeanor to patients and clients.
  • Must be willing to work starting at 8am and some days ending at 6pm, with some shorter days to compensate for the longer days.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Ideally a minimum of two to three years of medical office experience in a medical clinic
  • Medical office assistant certification required
  • Excellent customer service and patient relations skills
  • The desire and ability to learn and grow with the company
  • Attention to detail and exceptional time management
  • Valid driver’s license
  • English language proficiency is required

Responsibilities
  • This is a 3 month job, covering a very busy Otolaryngology physician for 5 days a week, ending at end of November 2025
  • Greet and direct patients as they enter the clinic, bring to exam room, check vitals and track heights and weights
  • Clean exam rooms after each visit
  • Communicate with patients as directed by physician
  • Answer incoming calls and schedule appointments
  • Coordinate specialist and lab referrals
  • Third party billing and form management
  • Call patients to book follow up appointments - Anyone might do this, depending on the complexity of patient.
  • Clean and sterilize medical equipment specific to each physician
  • Assist physicians with medical procedures, such as paps, sutures, etc.
  • Collect lab specimens from exam rooms after each patient, then label and prepare lab specimens for pick up
  • Track and monitor medical and office supplies in exam rooms
  • Comfort patients by anticipating patients’ anxieties and answering patients’ questions
  • Act as relief coverage to other MOAs and LPNs
  • Assist clinic manager with other administrative tasks
