Whether you are new to our practice, or a long time patient, we do everything we can to make your experience a memorable one. We are looking for an Optometric Assistant to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for assisting the doctor, patients, and other team members in the office. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to grow in their career or just looking to gain experience in the field of optometry. Duties: - Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner - Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate department or staff member - Schedule patient appointments and maintain the appointment calendar - Verify patient insurance information and collect necessary co-pays or fees - Maintain patient records and ensure all information is accurate and up-to-date - Assist with medical billing and coding as needed - Manage office supplies and inventory - Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure efficient patient flow - Follow HIPAA guidelines to protect patient confidentiality Experience: - Previous experience working in a medical office is highly preferred - Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems - Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures - Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written - Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively - Experience with phone systems and handling high call volumes is a plus If you are a detail-oriented individual with excellent organizational skills and a passion for providing exceptional patient care, we would love to hear from you.
