2.) 1 year of direct experience of work in Medical Office Administration
We are an established Family Practice In Aurora, Ontario. The clinic is modern and located within a very nice medical building. The clinic is looking for a Medical Office Assistant to join our team. A candidate that is detail oriented, personable, empathetic, reliable, team oriented and able to work in a fast paced environment would be a great fit for the team.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma
  • Police Backgrounds check
  • Ontario Driver’s License
  • College/ University Degree is an asset
  • Completion of Medical Office Assistant program (or in process) or 1 year experience
  • Experience with QHR Accuro Electronic Medical Records System would be an asset and preferred
  • Must be available for the occasional evening shift ex: one evening shift a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Front Desk operations such as signing patients in with health card, entering patient info
  • Rooming patients into examination rooms
  • Recording the reason(s) for visit for MD to review
  • Collecting pertinent medical history, information and assessments
  • Charting/ Documenting in the EMR as required
  • Completing tasks related to patient care and test results in the EMR
  • Sorting incoming faxes in the EMR for MD to review
  • Answering phone calls
  • Scheduling appointments and follow ups
  • Assisting with physician’s billings and submissions, creating invoices, receipts to customers
  • Preparing/drawing up vaccinations for physician to administer
  • Following daily checklist of operations in the beginning and the end of the day
  • Assisting with the flow and efficiency of the clinic
  • Restocking Supplies
  • Ordering Supplies
  • Recording temperature of vaccine fridge daily in log book
  • Assisting in procedures as needed
  • Assisting with physical exams, Driver’s medicals, Diabetic Visits
  • Obtaining patient weight, height, temperature, blood pressure etc. as required
  • Cross referencing of physician Roster list to Ministry list
  • Tracking of test results
  • Follow delegated duties as assigned by MD
