Position Summary:
The MOA will work within an inter-professional team of health care professionals to ensure efficient and smooth clinic operations. The MOA provides administrative support and assists allied health professionals during patient visits, a The MOA is responsible for communications with patients and a variety of health care providers.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
· High school diploma is required
· The ideal candidate will have Office Administration education, experience as a Medical Office Assistant (MOA) and completion of an accredited MOA program
· A combination of experience and skills in a health-care related setting will be considered in lieu of formal completion of an MOA program
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
· Minimum 3-5 years’ experience, preferably in a clinical setting.
· Experience working within an inter-professional care team model.
· Experience working with an EMR and Netcare is preferred.
· Optimize clinic workflow by answering phones, booking and greeting patients, rooming patients, sending and receiving referrals, coordinating and updating screening, scheduling, and arranging patient follow up.
· Answer inquiries from patients regarding services within the CRPCN.
· Create and maintain patient charts in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
· Track office supply stock and follow appropriate order placement process.
· Manage provider EMR schedules.
· Maintain a defined panel of patients that includes looking at the patient status, and screening care needs to offer evidence-based care to patients.
· Assist in coordination of CRPCN classes and workshops.
· Conduct queries and pull reports from the EMR as requested.
· Serve as EMR expert.
· Adherence to all Privacy and Confidentiality legislation related to patient care.
· Coordinate with other team members to ensure seamless patient care.
· Perform basic clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, preparing, and labelling specimens, preparing rooms for procedures, and applying / removing 24-hour Arterial Blood Pressure machines.
· Autoclaving and sterilization of instruments.
· Ensure cleanliness and organization of waiting area, exam rooms, and overall clinic space.
· Participate in CRPCN evaluations and quality improvement projects as required.
· Assist in coordinating patient attachment, including responding to Alberta Find a doctor queries.
· Attend CRPCN and other meetings as required.
· Other duties as required.
