This care includes everything from routine checkups and vaccinations to treatment for specific illnesses. Our experienced pediatricians and mid-level providers partner with parents to help support healthy growth and development. How you’ll contribute A Medical Office Assistant who excels in this role: * Greets visitors and communicates with patients and providers. * Coordinates workflow and complies records of office activities. * Completes all aspects of check-in/check-out process. * Enters and updates patient demographics and insurance information. * Collects any copay/coinsurance balances for current visit and any outstanding balance from patients. * Complete pre-appointment checklists and prepares accordingly. * Places, answers, and directs phone calls and distributes messages. Including retrieval and distribution of answering service messages. * Keeps office area neat and tidy. * Monitors and maintains log of needed office supplies. * Handles information requests, including reviewing files and records, answering inquiries, and responding to incoming work requests. * Monitors and addresses all front office task buckets in a timely manner. * Schedule referrals for patients to be seen by other physicians/specialists as ordered. Send all records needed and notify patient as needed. * Completes other tasks, within scope of position, as delegated by the practice leads, supervisors, managers and Market director. . What we’re looking for * Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent. * Medical front office experience preferred. * Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. * Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. * Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
