Description Greater Nashua Mental Health is seeking a Medical Office Assistant to join our Medical Services Team! The Medical Office Assistant plays a key role in supporting client care by welcoming clients from the waiting area to the clinical space and collecting a full set of vital signs, accurately documenting results in the EMR. This position also supports the department by maintaining and ordering supplies, as well as serving as a liaison between the agency and external laboratories. Duties & Responsibilities: Ushers clients from the waiting room, collects a complete set of vital signs prior to client appointment with prescriber, and documents the results promptly into the EMR Collects samples of bodily fluids as necessary for genetic testing and drug screening, setting up both instant and send-out interpretation of results. Enters orders into respective online portals, including client insurance information Obtains laboratory results from a variety of sources, and prints and /or records, as appropriate in EMR and/or REMs Acts as the liaison between the prescriber, families, and staff, as appropriate Assists the nursing staff in outreach to clients and fellow staff Coordinates the ordering and storage of supplies utilized by the nursing department Assists Nursing Manager with infection control and special projects Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned Requirements Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Post-secondary preparation in Nursing Assistant is preferred Ability to accurately collect and measure all required vital signs preferred, otherwise training can be provided Proficiency in using EMR and other online systems Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Email, Word, EXCEL) Strong collaborating skills, and an ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines; high energy, self-motivated and proactive Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask, and be flexible with regard to workload and assignments Ability to exercise judgment Why Join Us: We are looking for collaborative, curious for knowledge people with a “can do” mentality to join our team of compassionate employees!
