About the Position
I am a gastroenterologist specializing in inflammatory bowel disease and intestinal ultrasound opening a new practice in Vernon, BC, and I am looking for a reliable, organized, and patient-focused Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join me as I establish my practice.
This is an opportunity to be a key part of building a new clinic. The successful candidate will work closely with me to develop efficient office workflows, coordinate patient care, and help create a welcoming and well-organized experience for our patients.
The position will ideally begin on a part-time basis in December 2026, with the goal of transitioning to regular hours in January 2027 when the practice begins seeing patients. The December start will provide an opportunity to become familiar with the practice, EMR, and administrative processes, as well as help organize the January schedule.
Key Responsibilities
What I'm Looking For
The ideal candidate will be:
Previous experience as an MOA is preferred, but I am also interested in candidates who have strong administrative skills and relevant healthcare experience.
About the Practice
This is a new gastroenterology/inflammatory bowel disease practice with a focus on providing high-quality, patient-centred care. As the practice is being established from the ground up, there will be an opportunity for the successful candidate to have meaningful input into how the office is organized and how administrative workflows develop over time.
I am looking for someone who takes pride in their work, cares about providing a positive experience for patients, and would enjoy being part of a practice where teamwork, communication, and mutual respect are important.
