This is a great opportunity for a reliable and mature person seeking a career in the medical field – in an office setting. The position is permanent part-time, 25-30hrs per week – with occasional increased hours to cover staff leaves of absence.
The employer operates a medical clinic that embraces professionalism and diversity. The successful candidate must carry themselves professionally with regard to patient service and confidentiality, administrative efficiency and effectiveness, as well as health and safety procedures for both staff and patients. Demonstrating an ability to take initiative whilst respecting the direction from clinic staff (Senior MOA, PCN Nurse and Clinic Director – physician) is key. Communicating well and learning quickly is essential for the candidate, in order to be versatile in working independently but in a coordinated and cooperative fashion within a small team. The successful candidate must be technically savvy. Experience with computer applications, Medio and Accuro, very preferred but not essential.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
· Cleans/prepares exam rooms for patients before/after visits - disposes of medical waste;
· Greets, in person/by phone/by email, public/patients visiting office;
· Asks patients for personal information/medical concerns using communications tech.;
· Verifies info. obtained;
· Collects payment using POS/computer;
· Receives/sends medical info. using medical computer apps.;
· Speaks to other health professionals to exchange patient info. & set referral dates;
· Works with clinic nurse and doctor to ensure patient treatment/follow-up scheduling;
· Maintains office supplies & patient records;
· Cleans office area & equipment;
· Leads clinic by adding to office manual with better admin. processes;
· Follows clinic/provincial health services policies & regulations;
