Description

Garneau Endocrinology is seeking an experienced Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join our team of eight specialists, two registered dieticians, and two MOAs.

Duties (primary duties are highlighted in bold):

  • Process incoming referrals
  • Book appointments
  • Perform other administrative tasks such as answer the phone, cover the front desk when the receptionist is away, follow up on outcoming referrals, respond to patient inquiries, fax and copy documents, process incoming and outgoing mail/faxes, and assist in the scheduling of learners in the clinic
  • When needed, room patients, take vital signs, weight, height, enter vital signs and medication lists into EMR
  • Ensure efficient flow of patients through clinic
  • When needed, organize, prepare, and clean exam rooms and equipment
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Training in an accredited MOA program is preferred
  • Experience with EMR systems (Connect Care/Epic proficiency is preferred)
  • Minimum 3 years work experience in a medical clinic or hospital is preferred
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $26.00-$28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
