ABOUT US

Health One Medical is a fast-paced solo family medical practice in Coquitlam that offers a high quality medical service. We are looking for a part-time Medical Office Assistant to manage day-to-day activities of the office to liaise with patients, hospitals, specialists’ offices, etc. and perform general office administration. The ideal candidate should be reliable, self-motivated, organized, patient focused, a multi-tasker and be able to provide excellent customer service.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • General reception duties: answer phone calls, schedule appointments, welcome patients, guide them to examination rooms
  • Coordinate referrals to hospitals or specialists and notify patients regarding their appointments
  • Manage the EMR Software System, Collaborative Health Record (CHR), in terms of scheduling, billing, uploading lab reports and ensuring patients’ contacts are up to date
  • Manage incoming lab results and fax documents and execute appropriate follow up procedures
  • Perform simple lab tests and measuring patients’ vitals (weights and heights)
  • Perform cleaning and sterilization of instruments when necessary
  • Keep records of and maintain a sufficient stock in medical and office supplies
  • Maintain a clean and welcoming waiting area
  • Any other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous medical office experience
  • Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Strong front desk and administrative skills
  • Familiarity with multi-line phone systems
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • proficient in Cantonese and/or Mandarin
    Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
    Pay: $19.00-$25.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 14 – 21 per week

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)

Language:

  • Mandarin or Cantonese (preferred)
