SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration or related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Office Assistant in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and front-desk operations.
  • Proficient with EMR systems (Juvonno, Jane or TELUS preferred).
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience handling sensitive information with confidentiality.
Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE: MEDICAL OFFICE ASSISTANT

You will be the face of the clinic—ensuring a smooth, welcoming, and efficient experience for every patient.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the clinic’s CRM and EMR systems: maintain accurate patient records, appointments, and communication.
  • Greet patients warmly, answer calls and emails, and schedule appointments based on treatment plans.
  • Verify patient and insurance information prior to visits.
  • Submit claims through TELUS portals (EHC, HCAI, WSIB) and manage billing inquiries.
  • Prepare examination rooms and restock supplies, folding Laundry.
  • Sterilize equipment and maintain a clean clinic environment, including light laundry.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and support clinical staff as needed.
  • Coordinate patient communication efforts such as appointment reminders and follow-ups.
  • Assist with patient education and wellness initiatives including events and outreach.
