Responsibilities
  • Greet patients warmly, manage the check-in/check-out process, and handle patient inquiries.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception and waiting area.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments via phone and email.
  • Measure and record patient vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, temperature, height, weight).
  • Perform basic in-office laboratory tests, such as urinalysis.
  • Manage and maintain patient electronic medical records (EMR) with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Process Alberta Health (AHCIP) and third-party/private billing.
  • Manage incoming communications, including phone calls, faxes and emails, directing them as needed.
  • Prepare and maintain examination rooms, procedure rooms etc. ensuring they are stocked and clean.
  • Scan, upload and file patient documentation and test results.
  • Handle confidential patient information in compliance with privacy legislation.
