Duties:
- Oversee the daily operations of a medical office, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow
- Manage administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and responding to patient inquiries
- Maintain electronic medical records and ensure accuracy and confidentiality of patient information
- Manage patients in a respectful and professional manner with emphasis on patient care and satisfaction
- Must be flexible with hours with ability to work overtime when required
-Develop and implement office policies and procedures
- Payroll management for employees
- Hiring, training and performance evaluations of staff
- Coordinate with healthcare providers and staff to ensure timely delivery of patient care
- Handle billing and insurance claims, ensuring proper documentation and reimbursement
- Supervise office staff, providing guidance and support as needed
- Implement and enforce office policies and procedures to maintain compliance with healthcare regulations
- Monitor inventory of office supplies and equipment, ordering as needed
- Collaborate with other departments or external partners to facilitate effective communication and coordination
-OHIP reconciliation and submission with attention to detail
Qualifications:
- Previous experience minimum 2 years managerial in Ophthalmology/Optometry office
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Strong knowledge of medical receptionist duties and responsibilities
- Familiarity with phone systems and ability to handle high call volumes
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient information
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with healthcare professionals
