  Job Description: Medical Records Clerk and Float Patient Support Specialist Job Type: Full-time Key Duties for Medical records Clerk include: * Process outgoing patient medical records for patients, law offices/attorneys, insurance companies, outside healthcare facilities, and other entities * Request, receive and process incoming patient medical records requests * Invoice medical records processing fees according to the practice policy * Invoice and collect fees for patient paperwork * Creating and sending correspondence to referring providers and patients * Verify the receipt of medical records to outside entities * Receive, process and upload outside lab reports to patient record * Upload documents to patient records, labs, testing reports, letters, etc. * Verify the integrity and completeness of patient medical records and demographic information to include insurance * Maintain client confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations * All other duties as assigned Float Patient Support Specialist – provides coverage when staff are out or during lunch, if needed. Duties include but not limited to: * Greet clients and visitors in a warm, professional, and respectful manner * Schedule, confirm, and manage client appointments using the practice’s scheduling software * Collect copays and balances accurately * Communicate effectively with clinicians, billing staff and other team members * Support administrative tasks such as scanning, filing, and handling correspondence * All other duties as assigned   This position is in an office setting and frequently interacts with clients and staff. Must be able sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods of time. Occasionally lifting of up to 20 lbs. may be required.  Education: High School Diploma Experience: 3 years’ experience in a health care setting; 1-year specialized experience processing medical records *will guarantee a work schedule of 30 hours but has the potential to work up to 40 hours during times of staff shortages. Will make every effort to notify the staff member 24 hours in advance when possible.
