Our dedicated team supports patients every step of the way. The Medical Office Receptionist is the welcoming face of our practice, providing essential administrative support to ensure a seamless experience for our patients. In this role, you will coordinate patient communications, manage appointments, verify insurance information, and facilitate effective interaction between patients and healthcare providers. Responsibilities Greet and check in patients, collect service payments, handle incoming calls, and reconcile daily transactions. Prioritize and route calls based on urgency, connecting patients promptly to the appropriate departments. Provide clear information to patients about clinic policies, procedures, and assist with form completion. Verify and document patients' insurance benefits and coverage, accurately entering data into patient charts. Log all phone interactions in the electronic health record (EHR) system while upholding confidentiality standards. Work closely with departments to communicate schedule changes and update appointment details, ensuring coordinated care. Adhere to established guidelines for phone inquiries and escalate emergencies as necessary. Execute tasks such as filing, scanning, and faxing documents to support clinic operations. Consistently uphold HIPAA regulations, ensuring patient privacy and confidentiality. Cover other Patient Services Representative roles during absences or vacations as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor’s degree preferred. Bilingual proficiency required (English and Spanish). Previous experience as a medical receptionist, phone operator, or in customer service is highly valued. Familiarity with medical terminology, clinic procedures, and insurance processes is a plus.
