Provides efficient and competent patient scheduling for all physicians practicing at this office utilizing the current computer system. This position is primarily based in our Hopedale office; however, you will assist at any satellite office as needed, including Saturday. The Office hours for the Hopedale office are Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm. The starting wage for this position is $16 per hour. Responsibilities: * Unlock office and prepare for patients. * Answer incoming phone calls, assisting patients with scheduling needs or transferring to the appropriate department/person requested. * Take concise, accurate messages for nursing staff and physicians. * Greet patients; gather and update all necessary information upon arrival. * Update schedules in the appropriate EMR. * Schedule appointments according to individual providers’ schedules and the type of service requested. * Maintain Medical Arts policies and procedures; update as needed. * Refer patients in need of payment arrangements or financial assistance to the physician billing office. * Schedule follow-up appointments as directed and provide patients with written appointment reminder cards. * Collect necessary payment at time of service. * Make reminder phone calls for upcoming appointments. * Maintain schedules for consulting physicians, notifying their home office as per their individual preference. * Complete lab requisitions and outpatient services requisitions, and direct patients to the outpatient admitting office. * Complete end of day procedures. * Assist with the ordering and restocking of office supplies as needed. * Perform other related work as required or requested. Requirements: * High school diploma or the equivalent is required. * Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills, as well as compassion and caring, are required. * Proficiency in MS Office is required. * Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure is required. * Ability and willingness to work at Medical Arts and all satellite offices (Atlanta, Delavan, Mackinaw, Manito, and Tremont) is required. * Previous medical office experience is preferred. * ICD-9 and medical terminology knowledge is strongly preferred. Physical demands: * Ability to lift and move up to 25 lbs. * Able to communicate with peers and patients.
