Job Summary: The Medical Office Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations of Erlanger Medical Group Palliative Care Clinics. Responsibilities will include supervising front office staff, coordinating physician office and call schedules, preparing and overseeing support staff schedule, oversight of the pre-cert/referral process and revenue cycle, ordering of medical and office supplies, posting and assistance with staff recruitment, accounts payable, oversight for staff recruitment / discipline / termination, patient correspondence, managing work queues, arranging various tasks for smooth and efficient operation of the practice. This position is involved in a team-based approach to care. Team members are trained to meet the highest level of function for their role as per the State of Tennessee/Georgia guidelines. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to coordinate care for patients and is trained and assigned to support patients/families/caregivers in self-management, self-efficacy and behavior change. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to manage the practices' patient population. Participates in the practice's quality improvement process and performance evaluation. Education: Required: - High school graduate Preferred: - B.S. Degree in Business Experience: Required: - Two years' experience in healthcare related field - Knowledge of healthcare practice procedures and equipment Preferred: - Two years' experience supervising others Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration Required: - N/A Preferred: - N/A Department Position Summary: Responsibilities include assisting with the accountability for quality patient care and the orientation, joint commission preparation, education, growth, and performance of the practice. Supervising front office staff and the clinical staff and creating a patient centered, customer service environment, manages physician templates and schedules; maintenance of work queues; and direct responsibility for staff oversight to for hiring, discipline, and termination as well as working to resolve patient concerns and issues is also expected. Manages physician templates to include opening and closing of schedules and changing the duration of appointment times as directed by Operational Leadership. Supervises the timely rescheduling of any patients as needed due to schedule changes. Ensures patients are contacted prior to appointment time by managing Televox responses and/or staff calls. Further responsibilities include assistance in the development and management of the operational and capital budget, product evaluations, supply acquisition, inventory control, and formulating and implementing strategies for increased effectiveness and efficiency.
