Description
Objective To provide & coordinate medical services, to ensure highest standards of patient care. Principal Accountabilities : Principal Accountabilities (Under 200 Words) Strategic: Implement the hospital’s medical services vision and philosophy, focusing on infection control, waste management, patient rights, and safety. Offer strategic input and lead the vertical during absences. Recommend continuous improvements and build interdepartmental relationships. Operational: Provide timely, high-quality care to patients, including detailed assessments, progress notes, and coordinated treatments with consultants. Prepare complete discharge summaries in advance, ensure medication, diet, and follow-up compliance, and conduct effective patient handovers. Facilitate interdepartmental referrals, investigations, and ensure record accuracy. Attend consultant rounds, emergencies, and lead daily vertical rounds to uphold care standards. Manage inventory, minimize waste, and support audits and SOP implementation. Oversee training, documentation, and equipment maintenance. Participate in service reviews, staff education, and handle medico-legal, notifiable disease, and LAMA/death reporting. Coordinate with all departments to ensure seamless service delivery and operational excellence. Performance Parameters Summary of Key Responsibilities Prepare and submit error-free discharge summaries by 7:00 PM a day prior to discharge and finalize them in the HIS system by 10:30 AM. Ensure timely, high-quality patient care with accurate history taking and medical records. Maintain excellence in infection control, waste management, and emergency preparedness. Participate in quality audits, ongoing education, and performance management. Train subordinates in best practices and promptly handle grievances from patients and staff to support service excellence. Education Essential: A recognized MBBS from Medical Council of India. Must be registered with State/Medical Council of India. Experience A Minimum of 0-2 year of relevant experience in the concerned specialty in a Super/Multi Specialty hospital. Knowledge
