Medical Officer, Home Health Services, Outreach Medical Services Department: Home Health Services, Outreach Medical Services Entity: Aga Khan University Hospital Location: Karachi, Pakistan Introduction: The Aga Khan University Hospital, in addition to its five hospitals, extends access to quality healthcare through its comprehensive Outreach Services. These include Clinical Laboratories, Outpatient Medical Centres, Pharmacy Services, Home Health Services(HHS), and other related facilities. The Aga Khan University Hospitals provide both adult and paediatric patients with health care at home, ensuring a smooth transition from hospital to home-based care. Home Health Services (HHS) are available to patients discharged from AKUH as well as those referred by other hospitals, based on patient or family requests and/or physician prescriptions. HHS aims to deliver short-term or continuous care at home, tailored to the individual health needs of each patient and family. Services are provided in accordance with best practice standards and medical prescriptions to help maintain or enhance the patient’s quality of life. Responsibilities: You will be responsible to: Knowledge of basic and clinical sciences Purses continuing professional development Demonstrate sensitivity in interaction with patients/ community by responding appropriately to their expectations and concern and gain their confidence. Ability to maintain continuous open consistent communication with faculty, staff, patients and their families. Demonstrate higher ethical standards of practice Conducts home visits to assess the patient’s condition, recommend diagnostic procedures, prescribe medication and treatment plan for identified problems. Ability to make decision by weighting several factors and to develop solutions that address the root cause of the problem and prevent recurrence Ability to act quickly to address a crisis situation drawing on appropriate resources. Good written communication skill, especially with regards to patient care documentation. Requirements: You should have: Bachelor’s degree in medicine (MBBS) from an accredited school 1 year house job mandatory Post house job clinical experience preferable. Qualifications: MBBS Additional diploma in relevant field preferable Comprehensive employment reference checks will be conducted.
Responsibilities
