Job Details Level: Experienced Job Location: Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) - Atlanta, GA 30333 Position Type: Full Time Travel Percentage: None Job Shift: Day Job Category: Public Health Position Objective: Provide medical/scientific oversight and subject matter expertise across the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) Coronavirus and Other Respiratory Viruses Division’s (CORVD) analytic and surveillance activities, ensuring scientific rigor, clinical relevance, and high-quality deliverables. Duties and Responsibilities: Provide expert input on complex research/surveillance projects involving epidemiologic, medical record, and laboratory data. Support study design, interpretation of findings, and publication-quality outputs. Contribute to development/review of protocols and data collection instruments. Support clearance-ready scientific products (manuscripts, presentations, guidance). Collaborate across CDC/CORVD teams to address high-impact public health questions. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Demonstrated experience in a scientific/clinical field relevant to respiratory viruses and public health work Ability to interpret complex analytic results and contribute to scientific writing and review Strong collaboration and communication skills with multi-disciplinary teams Ability to obtain/maintain Public Trust suitability and comply with CDC policies Preferred Qualifications: Physician, epidemiologist, clearance reviewer, or related background (public health setting preferred) Knowledge of and experience working with clinical data Experience writing/reviewing/editing scientific publications Familiarity with R and/or SAS; familiarity with data dashboards (e.g., Power BI) *This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required by this position.
