Columbus Oncology is looking for a full-time Medical Patient Services Representative to join our team! This position would primarily be located at 300 Polaris Pkway #330, Westerville, Ohio 43082. Our focus is to serve our patients by delivering quality, hematology and oncology services in a community-based setting. We ensure our patients are supported every step of the way, and this starts at the front desk, continues through our clinics, and extends to our back-office operations. What will you do? Verify insurance coverage and explain benefits, deductibles, coinsurance and out of pocket maximums. Provide patients with detailed cost estimates for treatment. Identify and search for drug manufacturer financial assistance programs. Collect and post account payments, and reconcile daily payments. Meet with patients in person or over the phone to discuss account balances, set up payment plans, changes with insurance and billing questions. What will you need to be successful? Must have at least two years of experience in medical billing, or patient financial services. Have the ability to learn our technology platforms, which include NextGen, Phreesia and AssistPoint. Strong understanding of health insurance plans, including payer types, out of pocket responsibility. An understanding of EOBs (explanation of benefits) and billing statements. Knowledge of financial programs such as drug assistance programs, manufacturer copay programs, and foundations.
