The Medical Physicist will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective use of radiation in medical imaging and therapy. This position involves working closely with radiation oncologists, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize imaging and treatment protocols, maintain quality assurance, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical physics, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to patient safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) tests on radiation therapy equipment, imaging systems, and other medical devices to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Develop and implement radiation safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and the public from unnecessary exposure.
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists and radiologists to design and optimize treatment plans for patients undergoing radiation therapy.
- Calibrate and maintain radiation therapy and imaging equipment, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Conduct dosimetry measurements and calculations to ensure accurate delivery of radiation doses.
- Provide training and support to clinical staff on the safe and effective use of radiation technology.
- Stay current with advancements in medical physics and radiation technology, and integrate new techniques into clinical practice.
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of QA/QC activities, equipment performance, and regulatory compliance.
- Participate in research and development projects to improve imaging and treatment techniques.
Qualifications:
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Medical Physics, Physics, or a related field.
- Active Licence (Preferably DOH)
- 3 years of experience in medical physics, preferably in a clinical setting.
- Strong knowledge of radiation therapy, imaging systems, and radiation safety principles.
- Proficiency in using medical physics software and tools for dosimetry, treatment planning, and QA/QC.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.
