Description The Medical Pultrusion Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of pultrusion machines used to produce continuous fiber-reinforced polymer profiles. The associate in this role ensures that products meet quality standards and production goals by monitoring equipment, performing routine adjustments, and conducting visual and dimensional inspections. The pultrusion operator works closely with the production team to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Requirements Duties & Responsibilities Set up and operate pultrusion machinery according to specifications and standard operating procedures. Load raw materials (fiberglass, resin, etc.) and monitor resin bath levels and temperature. Perform in-process inspections and take measurements using calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Adjust machine settings (within tolerance) as needed to maintain product quality and consistency. Identify and report any product defects, machine malfunctions, or safety issues to team lead, supervisor, or manager. Document production data, quality checks, and material usage accurately. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area in accordance with 5S standards. Assist with die changes, line cleaning, and preventative maintenance as required. Monitor and achieve established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as production output, quality standards, efficiency, and safety compliance, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with company goals. Education & Training High school diploma or equivalent (GED or HSE). Technical certification in machining or manufacturing processes preferred. Knowledge & Experience Prior manufacturing or machine operation experience is a plus, especially in composite or plastics manufacturing. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints. Strong knowledge of precision measuring instruments and quality inspection techniques. Skills & Abilities Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Basic math skills. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time. Frequently required to reach and use hands and arms continuously. Willingness to work in a team environment and take direction from supervisor(s). Hours / Shifts: This is a 3rd shift position; training will take place on 1st shift. 1st Shift: Monday through Friday 7:00am – 3:00pm EST 2nd Shift: Monday through Friday 3:00pm – 11:00pm EST 3rd Shift: Sunday through Friday 11:00pm – 7:00am EST Hours and shifts may vary depending on needs of the department.
