ABOUT THE POSITION

Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a Registered Medical Radiation Technologist. The ideal candidate would
be dedicated to patient care and committed to championing the Hospital’s Mission to relieve illness and

suffering, and help people live healthier lives. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following;

  • Perform all radiographic procedures according to department policies and standard operating procedures
  • Produce high quality diagnostic images and liaise with radiologists and other physicians to provide excellent

patient care

  • Trouble shoot and rectify minor equipment problems
  • Assess and communicate gross abnormal results to Radiologists
  • Participate in rotation through X-ray, CT, and mammography as required
  • Adherence to all health and safety policies, procedures and provisions and the recognition and reporting of

unsafe hazards and work practices

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma/Degree in Medical Radiation Technology approved by the College of Medical Radiological

Technologists of Ontario

  • Licensed with CMRTO
  • Membership with CAMRT, OAMRT
  • Previous CT and mammography experience preferred
  • Self-starter who has the ability to work well with frequent interruptions in a fast-paced team environment as

well as the ability to confidently work alone

  • Possesses highly developed organizational skills and the ability to multitask
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and customer relations skills
  • Excellent attendance record
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and GE PACS
  • Other duties as assigned

Hours of Work: Must work shifts, weekends and holidays, and on-call as required.
