The Knares Medical Practice in Basildon is part of the West Basildon Primary Care Network (PCN). The doctors and staff at the surgery are proud to offer the highest standard of patient-centred healthcare.
We run many clinics for the management of chronic diseases such as asthma and diabetes and offer a wide variety of other medical services including antenatal and postnatal care, minor surgery, childhood vaccinations and well-person check-ups.

Responsibilities

The Knares Medical Practice in Basildon, has an exciting opportunity for a medical receptionist/administrator to join their team on a part-time basis, for 20 -25 hours per week. This role is to ensure a friendly, helpful and efficient service to the doctors and patients at our busy practice.

The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Answering the telephone and dealing with enquiries in a helpful, tactful manner.
  • Making appointments for patients, surgeries and clinics on the appropriate computerised diary system.
  • Induction of staff when they arrive before starting their clinics, familiarising them to the surgery, showing them the fire exit, panic button etc.
  • Ensuring that they sign the confidentiality agreement etc.
  • Extracting records for surgeries and clinics when required.
  • Making sure that referrals are completed.
  • Opening and closing of the clinic premises as appropriate.
  • Tidying waiting area before and at the end of the clinic.
  • Checking stock in clinical rooms to ensure that everything required is made available.
  • Admin activities as advised by practice manager.
  • Other reasonable tasks necessary to fulfil your role and assist with the smooth running of the primary care network.
