Job Description for Medical Receptionist/Administrator at The Hadleigh Practice
The successful candidate will be efficient, adaptable, discreet, multitask, able to work under pressure, always show a caring attitude and have the ability to deal with patients when they are unwell. As a member of the Practice team it is essential that reception staff are able to support their clinical and non-clinical colleagues. Flexibility and commitment to cover other reception staff during holidays or sick leave is essential.
We are looking for a friendly person to cover 23 and a half hours, based over 4 days working over the two practices.

Responsibilities

Operating computerised appointment system as directed
Receiving and directing patients appropriately, including signposting to appropriate services
Handling telephone lines and dealing with general enquiries
Generating repeat prescriptions from the computer system, checking and filing them ready for collection
General maintenance of records and clinical system
Maintaining supplies in Reception and Doctors rooms
Perform administration tasks such as registering new patients and filling in forms where necessary
Handling messages between a multi-disciplinary team
Open and close the surgery when necessary
Communicating messages to patients
Attending in house and external training courses where appropriate
Handling petty cash
Be aware of the roles safeguarding responsibilities and ensure training in this area is always kept up to date.
Acting as a Chaperone for clinicians when required.
