Alevia Medical Weight Loss
East Melbourne
We have a rare full-time opportunity available at our East Melbourne clinic, and we’re looking for the right person to take ownership of our front desk.
Alevia is a specialist medical weight management clinic. Our patients come to us for ongoing, medically-led care, which means our reception team plays a genuinely important role in their journey.
This is not a job where you sit quietly behind a desk waiting for something to happen.
The phone will ring. A patient will arrive at exactly the same time. A doctor will need something. Someone will send you a Teams message. And another patient will inevitably have a question that requires more than a yes or no.
If that sounds energising rather than terrifying, keep reading!
What you'll actually be doing
You'll be the main point of contact at our East Melbourne clinic and responsible for keeping the day moving smoothly.
Your day will include:
You might be our person if...
You’re naturally attentive.
You notice the little things, take pride in getting things right and are comfortable following processes carefully.
You’re good at keeping lots of plates spinning.
A busy clinic can mean phones ringing, patients arriving and requests coming through at the same time. You’re able to stay calm, prioritise and keep things moving.
You’re warm and confident.
You enjoy helping people, communicate clearly and are comfortable managing expectations in a kind and professional way.
You’re comfortable with technology.
We use a number of systems throughout the day. You don’t need to know them all already, but you should be confident learning new software and working across multiple platforms.
You’re process-minded.
You understand that consistency and accuracy matter in healthcare administration, particularly when it comes to billing, Medicare and patient information.
You’re comfortable asking questions.
We value people who seek clarification when they need it, learn quickly and want to understand the right way to do things.
You’re dependable.
You show up, follow through and are someone your team can rely on.
Experience
Previous medical reception experience would be fantastic, particularly experience with practice management software and Medicare billing.
But we're also open to someone with strong customer service or administration experience who is sharp, capable and genuinely keen to learn healthcare.
More important to us is that you are:
Why Alevia?
We're not a huge corporate healthcare organisation.
We're a growing specialist clinic where you'll know the doctors and the people you work with, your ideas can actually be heard, and you can see the impact of the work you do.
You'll also get:
Alevia specialises in medical weight management and helping patients improve their health and wellbeing through ongoing medical care.
How to apply
Please submit your resume and a short cover letter.
And because we're going to read a lot of applications: somewhere in your cover letter, tell us about a time when everything seemed to happen at once at work and how you handled it.
