Description

Medical Reception / Health Administration Opportunities

Bendigo Primary Care Centre & Bendigo Medicare Urgent Care Clinic (Full-time & Part-time roles)

At Bendigo Primary Care Centre (BPCC), we are proud to be one of Central Victoria’s largest medical centres and a leading provider of multidisciplinary primary health care to the Greater Bendigo and surrounding community. But BPCC is more than a medical centre — it is a place of learning, growth and opportunity.

As a modern, well-equipped and community-focused organisation, BPCC is deeply committed to teaching, training and workforce development. We play an important role in shaping the future health workforce of our region, supporting professional development across all levels of the organisation, and creating an environment where people can build meaningful and rewarding careers.

In partnership with key stakeholders, BPCC also operates the Bendigo - Medicare Urgent Care Clinic, helping ensure our community can access urgent care when it is needed, without requiring treatment through the emergency department or hospital system.

We are now seeking enthusiastic, patient-focused people to join our Medical Reception and Health Administration team.

This is an exciting opportunity for:

  • someone with existing medical reception or health administration experience who is looking to further develop and be recognised for their skills within a strong professional environment
  • someone seeking to build a longer-term career through BPCC’s supportive medical administration development pathway
  • someone looking to begin a career in medical reception or health administration
  • or someone wishing to transition careers, bringing valuable broader experience, strong people skills and a commitment to service into a dynamic healthcare setting

At BPCC, you will join a team that values great service, professionalism, adaptability, and continuous learning. We are looking for people who want to contribute to an organisation that is building new models of care to meet the changing needs of our community, while investing in both individual and team development.

Successful applicants will demonstrate a friendly, highly organised, flexible and proactive approach, with the ability to communicate well, coordinate competing priorities, and work effectively as part of a team.

Previous medical reception experience, proficient computer skills, and knowledge of Best Practice medical software will be highly regarded. You should also be able to demonstrate:

  •  the ability to learn quickly and adapt to change
  • a strong customer and patient service focus
  • a proactive and service-oriented approach to administrative support, assisting clinical and service delivery staff so they can concentrate on providing high-quality care to the patients and community we serve
  • a genuine interest in helping people access the care they need, when they need it
  • the capacity to work autonomously and contribute positively to a diverse team
  • the ability to work to deadlines
  • an understanding of confidentiality and privacy requirements
  • experience with cash handling, receipting, electronic funds transfer processes, and working across software systems including appointment, billing and database platforms

Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Health Professionals and Support Services Award 2020. As a locally owned not-for-profit organisation, BPCC also offers generous salary packaging benefits for staff.
