Description Carolina Digestive is seeking a Medical Receptionist to perform clerical and receptionist duties to facilitate the efficient operation and maintenance of patient care. This position is a float position, meaning candidate will need to travel to office locations in and around Charlotte as needed. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented team player who serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, greeting them in a professional and well-spoken manner. To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Duties include, but are not limited to, checking patients in, checking patients out, verifying insurance information, and confirming patient appointments. *This is a Float position. Candidates must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel in and around the Charlotte area as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Obtains and scans insurance card and government ID into GMED. • Maintains cleanliness and upkeep of the patient lobby/waiting area. • Prepares and reconciles daily deposits and petty cash. • Responsible for timely and accurate recording of patient demographics, insurance information, and any other required information. • Obtains signed forms/authorizations from the patient to protect the practice's interests. • Receives payments and posts to account. • Address patient balances and coordinate payment plans. • Answers inbound calls within three rings and fulfills patient requests. • Provides excellent customer service at all times and demonstrates a commitment to quality of care. • Prepares charts for next-day appointments, scanning of patient documents, filing pathology (where applicable). • Verify insurance eligibility prior to the visit. • Verify and confirm appointments. • Schedules follow up appointments upon check out. • Procedure weekly count, email schedule to Anesthesia company weekly (where applicable). • Travel and provide coverage at other locations as needed. • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. • Working knowledge of CPT coding, ICD10 codes, and Medical Terminology. • Upholds the CDHA mission by actively contributing to the achievement of organizational goals, supporting leadership, promoting unity, and teamwork for the benefit of patients. • Maintains a clear focus on patient safety in every interaction with every patient. Requirements Experience working in a specialty practice is strongly preferred. Ability to multi-task, and work at a fast pace environment Education: High school diploma required. Experience: One to threes years experience in healthcare preferred. Additional skills preferred: Experience with answering multiple phone lines. Basic computer skills. Excellent customer service
