As a medical receptionist, you will work as part of a team that complete the back office tasks. You will complete daily, weekly, and monthly tasks and will multitask and prioritise to get this work done. You will support clinical staff and problem solve for patients and displace exceptional communication skills. You may also be asked to cover reception duties from time to time.
The ideal candidate will have a positive and calm manner, be compassionate, patient and understanding, be well organised and able to work systematically and be able to follow procedures and protocols closely. They will have good IT skills and be brilliant with people. They will need to be able to work in a busy environment, being helpful and efficient when communicating with other staff and patients. Experience in a similar role is preferred.
Hill Top Surgery is run by Hope Citadel Healthcare. We are a team of GP practices that are looking to bring transformation in individuals, families and communities through whole-person centered healthcare.
This is a full time role, 37.5 hours per week depend on applicant preference. Mon - Friday
Job Responsibilities
Provide an efficient audio typing service for GPs. This includes the typing of referral letters, reports, patient letters etc. in an accurate and quality manner.
To use the e-Referral system for referrals to hospitals and other care providers.
To scan and file all correspondence into patients medical records using the docman system.
To triage all clinical correspondence and workflow necessary documents to clinicians.
Code all relevant clinical information into patients medical records.
To make, cancel and amend appointments.
To establish an effective recall system for patients to include QOF recalls, childhood immunisations, smears and flu vaccinations.
To process all insurance and solicitor reports in a timely manner.
To process copies of medical requests for patients and insurance companies in a timely manner.
To complete all tasks in workflow manager to include deductions, GP2GP etc.
To efficiently deal with tasks from GPs, nurses and other staff.
To maintain the practice GSF register and the Safeguarding register.
Work safely at all times in accordance with Legislative requirements and Practice Policy and Procedures.
To promote the ethos and vision of Hope Citadel Healthcare within the practice include staff, visitors and patients; through the provision of quality whole person healthcare.
To attend and participate in any meetings required by the company, including practice meetings, and any applicable training.
Please note that this is a 10 month fixed term position.
