As a Senior IMED Radiology Medical Receptionist, you’ll be at the heart of our patient experience, creating a warm and welcoming environment.
We currently seeking an Experienced Senior Medical Receptionist to join the team on a Full-time permanent basis, working rotating shifts, Monday to Friday between 6.45am to 9pm. This role will be working in a crucial front facing position. You will be rostered to work across our Launceston clinics, which will give you variety with the work that you do and the team that you will work alongside.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous medical receptionist /administration experience required
  • Clear communication skills, both in speaking and listening, along with patience and empathy for people in varying situations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and learn quickly with one on one support from an experienced tutor through the first 2-4 weeks of your employment
  • Customer service experience
  • You’ll be flexible working autonomously and in a team environment
  • You will have a ‘can do’ attitude and chip in to support your tea
Responsibilities

AS A SENIOR MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

Patient Interaction:

  • Greet patients and other callers professionally and courteously and always with a smile.
  • Assist patients with appointment scheduling.

Administrative Tasks:

  • Manage medical records confidentially and efficiently.
  • Process patient payments (cash, Eftpos, direct billing).
  • Invoice Medicare, Private Health Funds, TAC, DVA and Workcover.
  • Handle internal emails and inquiries.
  • Maintain a tidy reception waiting area.

Collaboration:

  • Work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Communicate with referring doctors and hospital staff courteously.
  • Fill in the roster when staff are on annual or sick leave.
  • Ensure accurate storage and retrieval of patient and practice records.

Confidentiality:

  • Maintain patient personal and financial information confidentiality.
  • Complete recalls and follow privacy protocols.
