Role Description


The Medical Receptionist is a full-time, on-site role based in Mosman Park, WA.


This role is responsible for greeting patients, managing check-in and check-out processes, and ensuring a smooth flow of appointments throughout the day.


Daily tasks include answering phone calls, responding to inquiries, booking and confirming appointments, and maintaining accurate patient records in the practice management system.


You will also coordinate referrals, processes payments, handle Medicare and private health fund details as required, and supports clinicians with administrative needs.


Qualifications


  • Ability to perform core reception duties, including greeting patients, managing front desk operations, and handling general inquiries.
  • Strong appointment scheduling skills, with experience using practice management or booking systems to coordinate patient visits efficiently.
  • Professional phone etiquette, including clear communication, active listening, and courteous handling of calls and messages.
  • Previous experience in a medical reception or administrative role in healthcare or a similar setting is highly beneficial.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications (e.g., email, electronic records, scheduling software) and accurate data entry skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact respectfully with patients of diverse backgrounds and handle sensitive situations calmly.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy clinical environment.
  • Commitment to patient confidentiality and adherence to privacy and safety standards
