OVERVIEW

We are looking for an energetic, experienced Medical Receptionist/Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, providing essential administrative support in a fast-paced medical environment. Your expertise in managing a busy front desk, wonderful personality, and familiarity with electronic medical records will be crucial in ensuring success in this role.

Responsibilities

DUTIES (INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO):

  • Greet patients warmly and manage the front desk efficiently
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient flow to optimize office productivity
  • Adhere to clinic’s policies and procedures
  • OHIP billing
  • Maintain accurate patient records using electronic medical records
  • Collect patient information, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations
  • Assist with billing and processing payments
  • Answer phone calls promptly, addressing inquiries or directing them to the appropriate staff member
  • Support colleagues with administrative tasks as needed, contributing to a collaborative work environment
  • Ensure the office is organized and equipped with necessary supplies for daily operations
  • Contributes to our existing positive, supportive, and professional culture

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working in an Ontario medical clinic is required
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical records systems; experience with Accuro and OceanMD is preferred
  • Strong understanding of medical and administrative procedures, CPSO requirements, as well as a strong background in IPAC and Public Health best practices
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong focus on customer service
  • Ability to work effectively in a busy environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and willingness to learn new skills
