Responsibilities
  • Communicating effectively and respectfully with patients, physician, staff and other medical practices
  • Determining insurance eligibility, deductibles/co-payments and collecting outstanding balances
  • Maintaining patient medical records
  • Patient scheduling, reminder calls, and follow-up calls
  • Coordinating insurance
  • Scheduling patients using practice management software, and answering and/or responding as appropriate to patient calls and emails
  • Fulfill patient care responsibilities as assigned, assist provider with patient care.
  • Escort patient to and from exam room, help patient prepare for exam when necessary.
  • Documentation in EHR.
  • Organize patient flow according to protocol.
  • Ensure completion of forms and appropriate requisitions.
  • Notify patients of lab results.
  • Respond to patient questions in office and on phone/email as instructed.
  • Schedule or re-schedule appointments with providers, specialists as necessary. Send appropriate records as necessary.
  • Complete Prior-Authorizations as needed
  • Work in compliance with OSHA, blood-borne pathogen standards.
  • Adherence to the healthcare compliance policy.
  • Document and keep current appropriate records for maintenance programs.
