Position Overview:
The Medical Receptionist is responsible for managing the front desk operations of our clinic, including greeting patients, scheduling appointments, handling phone calls, and maintaining patient records. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a keen attention to detail, and a commitment to patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and check
-in patients upon arrival in a courteous and professional manner.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring efficient use of clinic resources.
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls; handle inquiries and provide information as needed.
- Verify patient information and update electronic medical records (EMR).
- Process patient payments and insurance verifications.
- Assist with patient flow and coordinate with medical staff to ensure timely appointments.
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
- Handle confidential information with discretion
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and visitors.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical administration is a plus.
- Previous experience as a receptionist or in a customer service role is preferred, however training will be provided.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
- Proficient in using EMR systems and basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Office) is advantages
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional demeanor and appearance.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and billing practices is advantageous.
